The Louisiana Watershed Initiative is hosting a virtual public meeting on the Model Use, Storage and Maintenance Plan for the Statewide Modeling Program at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, via Zoom. Register for the meeting here.
Because LWI canceled the first MUSM plan public meeting due to Hurricane Ida, the Sept. 24 meeting will last three hours, allowing more time for questions. Participants can ask questions using the Zoom chat or Q&A features. They also can submit questions ahead of the meeting to watershed@la.gov.
The state is accepting public comments on the MUSM plan until Oct. 25. The plan will support the long-term sustainability of statewide watershed models, which will simulate flood scenarios and analyze potential mitigation solutions. A Spanish translation of the plan is available here.
The public may submit comments online or via email, fax or mail.
