The state is seeking public comment on the Model Use, Storage and Maintenance Plan for the Louisiana Watershed Initiative’s Statewide Modeling Program. This plan will support the long-term sustainability of statewide watershed models, which will be used to simulate flood scenarios and analyze potential mitigation solutions. The deadline for submitting public comments is Oct. 25.
LWI staff and partners are hosting two virtual public meetings on the MUSM plan. Register for the first meeting at 1 p.m. Aug. 31 here and/or the second meeting at 11 a.m. Sept. 24 here.

The state also is posting the LWI modeling methodology guidance. The guidance will ensure consistency among models in each region, ensure model designs include proper attributes to meet program objectives and inform scope development and expectations regarding desired features and quality control.
