The Louisiana Watershed Initiative will accept full applications for the Watershed Projects Grant Program: Local and Regional – Round 1 until March 12. The state previously extended the application deadline in response to last year’s hurricane season and the recent ice storm.

Eligible applicants should view the mandatory webinar and frequently asked questions for guidance before submitting their full applications.

The Round 1 funding opportunity is part of the state’s Action Plan to spend $1.2 billion in federal Community Development Block Grant Mitigation funds. The program represents a $100 million project funding opportunity for eligible local and regional projects.

The state will announce awards for $60 million in statewide projects in May. Regional steering committees in each of Louisiana’s eight watershed regions will select up to $5 million in projects to recommend for funding. These regional project recommendations will be announced in the summer.
