REMINDER: Register for Oct. 20 ‘Working With Nature' Webinar

Date:Oct 18, 2021

The Louisiana Watershed Initiative is hosting the first Working With Nature training series webinar at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. The series focuses on nature-based solutions to enhance flood resilience, improve natural functions of the floodplain and reduce long-term costs associated with traditional mitigation projects.

The webinar will feature an introduction to working with nature and a case study of the Vermilion River watershed that compares nature-based solutions with conventional mitigation measures. Register here.

The goal of the series is to train participants in the design and development of nature-based flood risk reduction projects, which are highly desirable options for LWI funding opportunities.

The Association of State Floodplain Managers has approved each module of the training series for one continuing education credit. For more details and credit documentation, contact bradley.spiegel@la.gov.
