The state has received more than 300 pre-applications from local and regional public entities throughout Louisiana in response to an anticipated $100 million funding opportunity for projects that address immediate flood mitigation needs.
Due to the high volume of submissions, the Louisiana Watershed Initiative website may have indicated a submission was received, but the applicant may not have received a confirmation email. Any applicant who did not receive a confirmation email should contact the LWI at LWI-Round1@la.gov by Jan. 31. LWI officials will either confirm receipt of the pre-application or provide resubmission guidance.
Officials are reviewing pre-applications. The large number of pre-applications highlights the widespread interest in this opportunity and demonstrates a substantial need throughout Louisiana for funding to reduce flood risk.
This funding opportunity is part of the state’s Action Plan to spend $1.2 billion in Community Development Block Grant Mitigation funds, pending federal approval.
