The Louisiana Watershed Initiative is seeking applications for the state’s Regional Capacity Building Grant Program.
This program supports regional watershed management activities over three years. Grant funds will be used to enhance regional staff capacity and enable watershed coordination activities, including watershed planning, steering committee facilitation, project prioritization, floodplain management and public outreach efforts.
The state will award grants of up to $400,000 per watershed region on a noncompetitive basis. Each applicant must be a public entity, represent all political jurisdictions within the corresponding watershed region and submit a Phase I letter of interest by 3 p.m. Oct. 1.
Awards are subject to compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies governing the funds.
The state will hold a webinar with prospective applicants at 10 a.m. Aug. 22. Click here to register for the webinar.
