The Council on Watershed Management will meet at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, when it will hear a summary of public comments received on the state’s proposed CDBG-MIT Action Plan. The meeting will take place in House Committee Room 5 at the State Capitol, 900 N. Third St., in Baton Rouge. The public comment period ended Nov. 29.
Members of the Louisiana Watershed Initiative will also brief the Council on the extended deadline for local and regional public entities to submit pre-applications to determine their eligibility for anticipated federal funds for projects that will address immediate flood mitigation needs throughout Louisiana.
The new deadline to submit pre-applications is Jan. 17.
The state completed 37 technical assistance sessions during the Watershed Projects Grant Program: Local and Regional – Round 1 briefings held throughout Louisiana’s eight watershed regions. In response to information provided by the 241 attendees, the state extended the deadline.
Prospective applicants should refer to the frequently asked questions for guidance as they complete their project pre-applications in response to this notice of funding availability.
