Ascension Parish government announced the Bonadona-Cataldo drainage improvement project had its ceremonial groundbreaking in Donaldsonville.
State Rep. Ken Brass reported that $1.4 million was allocated through the Louisiana Watershed Initiative, which includes road ditch regrading, culvert and catch basin improvements and installation and driveway and asphalt replacement along Maginnis Street, Vatican Drive, Edna Street, Cataldo Street, Bonnie Street and St. Patrick Street.
“The existing system in this neighborhood may have been adequate when it was originally installed, but over time, drainage here has become problematic,” Ascension Parish President Clint Cointment said in the announcement. “This project will improve flow and bring much-needed relief to residents living in this area of Donaldsonville.”
